Myeongdong Kyoja (λͺ λ κ³ μ)

With more than 30K local reviews, here is a a culinary gem: Myeongdong Kyoja. This renowned dumpling house has transcended its status as a restaurant to become a bona fide tourist attraction in its own right. But what truly sets Myeongdong Kyoja apart is its recognition by the Michelin Guide. Yes, you read that right β these are Michelin-approved dumplings!

They’re famous for their dumplings, but be aware that they’re considered a side dish here. However, that doesn’t mean you should skip them! In fact, reviewers rave about the steamed dumplings, and many recommend ordering the Kalguksu alongside them for a complete and hearty meal. The Kalguksu is a delightful noodle soup with a flavorful broth, perfect for warming you up on a chilly day.

The steamed dumplings were so delicious that we finished eating them in no time! Kalguksu was also delicious and a made with a delicious soup that was warming. It was the perfect hearty meal! The kimchi was one of the best that I’ve tried in Korea so far! Kinda spicy and with a lot of garlic!
The Dumplings (λ§λ) were around 11,000 KRW and the Kalguksu (μΉΌκ΅μ) was around 10,000 KRW.
Here’s a tip:
– Since the dumplings are a side dish, you won’t be able to order them on their own. Be sure to order the Kalguksu, and you can add the dumplings on as a side.
– People there don’t speak english but since it’s a 3-dish-only restaurant, is easy to order.
– Be there EARLY! The lines are crazy huge during lunch time!
