This isn’t your average Korean BBQ spot. Han Nam Dae Ji Jib is a franchise with a long history of serving up delicious food. The minute you walk in, the aroma of grilling meats transports you back to those happy childhood meals.

But what truly sets Han Nam Dae Ji Jib apart is their unique take on the classic Korean BBQ experience. Their signature dish is the minari wrap. Spring has sprung in Seoul, and what better way to celebrate the warmer weather than with some sizzling Korean BBQ? Recently, I felt the call of the grill and rushed over to Tae Tae Samgyeop, a restaurant that quickly became my new favorite spot.

What truly sets Tae Tae Samgyeop apart is its unique location. Unlike most Korean BBQ restaurants, this one boasts a rooftop night market! While grilling up my samgyeopsal, I was treated to a fantastic view of the iconic Namsan Tower, the bustling streets below! The restaurant’s charm is the outside area that have the “pocha” vibe.

Of course, the star of the show was the food. The samgyeopsal, perfectly marinated and tender, cooked to juicy perfection on the grill. And the meal wasn’t complete without some delicious sides. I devoured kimchi fried rice, the savory and slightly sweet jajangmyeon noodles, and a bowl of sundubu jjigae, a spicy soft tofu stew. Needless to say, I left absolutely satisfied.

Umidang / Maple Tree House (μš°λ―Έλ‹Ή)

While it’s a little further out (about an hour by subway from central Seoul), trust me, this hidden gem is absolutely worth the journey.

The star of the show here is the “crazy beef cubes,” aptly named for the explosion of flavor that erupts with every bite. The meat is cooked to perfection over hot, well-maintained charcoal, locking in those delicious juices. The countless rave reviews online are no exaggeration – this dish is truly a flavor bomb!

Although it’s a little bit far, the meat prices starts at 18,000 won per 150g of meat! Craving some variety alongside your meat cubes? Be sure to try their sweet and savory marinated ribs. These beauties are the perfect companion to a steaming bowl of white rice. And to complete your Korean BBQ feast, don’t forget to order the classic accompaniments – a refreshing bowl of sundubu jjigae (soft tofu stew) and some naengmyeon (cold noodles).

Umidaeong might be a bit of a trek, but for the chance to experience these incredibly juicy pork cubes and a fantastic Korean BBQ experience, it’s a journey well worth taking!
